Journey Through the Andean Legacy

We begin in Puno, one of Peru’s highest cities at 11,000 feet above sea level, set on the vast high plains surrounding Lake Titicaca. Our journey takes us to the megalithic ruins of the once-powerful Pucara civilization before continuing to the lake, where we visit the millennia-old cultures of the Uros and Taquile people, who still live on floating reed islands.

Gradually descending into the fertile valleys of Cusco, we witness the architectural brilliance of the Incas, culminating in the awe-inspiring sanctuary of Machu Picchu, untouched by Spanish conquest. Along the way, Andean communities continue their traditions, revealing that the Inca spirit lives on through their customs, vibrant markets, music, and language.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Lima

Arrive in Lima and transfer to our hotel in the scenic Miraflores district by the sea.

Day 02 :

Lima – Puno

Morning flight to Juliaca, followed by a transfer to our hotel in Puno. Visit Sillustani, an ancient pre-Inca burial site with impressive tomb towers overlooking a picturesque lake.

Day 03 :

Lake Titicaca – Uros & Amantani Islands

Early morning departure to Lake Titicaca for a boat tour. Visit the Uros floating islands, where locals continue their millennia-old traditions. Continue to Amantani Island for a homestay, hike to the island’s summit for a stunning sunset, and enjoy a local folk dance in the evening.

Day 04 :

Taquile Island – Puno

After a family breakfast, take a boat to Taquile Island, known for its vibrant textile culture. Enjoy a fresh Kingfish lunch while learning about the island’s unique traditions. Return to Puno in the late afternoon.

Day 05 :

Puno – Cusco via La Raya Pass

Drive through the Andean high plains to Cusco, stopping at the Pukara Museum to learn about one of the oldest Andean cultures. Cross La Raya Pass (4,300m) and visit the Inca religious site of Raqchi and the historic village of Andahuaylillas. Arrive in Cusco in the late afternoon.

Day 06 :

Cusco City Tour

Discover Cusco’s most significant sites, including Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), Saqsayhuamán, Qenqo, and Tambomachay.

Day 07 :

Cusco – Pikillaqta & Tipón

Early morning drive to Pikillaqta, a vast Wari archaeological site (600–1000 A.D.). In the afternoon, visit Tipón, an impressive Inca site known for its advanced irrigation system.

Day 08 :

Sacred Valley Exploration

Full-day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the highland village of Chinchero, explore Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Inca towns, and tour its fortress and temple. Enjoy lunch in Urubamba, then visit Pisaq, known for its colorful market and impressive archaeological site.

Day 09 :

Cusco – Machu Picchu

Morning train to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site, with optional hikes to Huayna Picchu or the Sun Gate (subject to availability). After lunch, relax on the terraces and explore at your own pace. In the evening, unwind in the Aguas Calientes hot springs.

Day 10 :

Machu Picchu Sunrise – Return to Cusco

Wake up early to see the sunrise over Machu Picchu. Hike to the Sun Gate for panoramic views. After lunch, take the train back to Cusco.

Cusco Museums

Visit the Machu Picchu Museum, featuring artifacts returned from Yale University, and explore the Inka Museum, which showcases Inca construction tools, textiles, and ancient artifacts.

Day 12 :

Cusco – Lima & Gold Museum

Morning flight to Lima. Visit the renowned Gold Museum, home to one of the most important collections of pre-Columbian artifacts.
